Tsakane_ On Wednesday 13 July 2022 at 07:55 one Malawian and two South African male suspects aged 50, 32, 21 respectively, were intercepted in Tsakane.
EMPD FRU member’s enroute to Kwa-Thema to report on duty traveling along 12th road spotted a Green Nissan Sentra making a U-turn to avoid a roadblock ahead held at Corner Geluksdale road and 12th road.
Members immediately suspected something dubious of the suspicious motor vehicle and acted on instinct to stop it. Officers extracted the three occupants from the vehicle and questioned why the sudden U-turn of which the suspects could not provide satisfactory answers as it was clear that they wanted to evade the roadblock ahead held by SAPS and other law enforcement agencies.
Members conducted searches on both occupants and the vehicle and found a big green grocery bag in the boot of the vehicle, upon opening the bag a further 4 black refuse bags rapped in brown sellotape was discovered that contained (dagga) substance 12 arm 14.7kg with street value of R50 000.
The trio was marched to Tsakane police station and charged with possession of dagga with the possibility of charges to be added. The father and son with their accomplice will appear in court soon
