On Saturday 08 July 2023 at about 15:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, arrested a 27-year-old male suspect for common assault and domestic violence, in the Daveyton area.
As Officers were conducting their daily duties, they received information about the whereabouts of a suspect sought for arrest, relating to a case of common assault and domestic violence. Officers engaged with the information and proceeded to Hlakwane Street in Daveyton, where they identified and arrested the 27-year-old male suspect. It is alleged that the suspect had an altercation with his girlfriend, regarding the behaviour and habits of his girlfriend, who he alleges consumes alcohol excessively. During that altercation, the suspect assaulted the victim, at a residence on Hlomela Street in Daveyton.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Daveyton police station, and is expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate Court, to face charges of common assault and domestic violence.
