On Monday 28 November 2022 at about 14:30 in the afternoon, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct officers, intercepted a 29-year-old African male suspect at the Chris Hani informal settlement, for malicious injury to property in Daveyton.
While performing law enforcement duties, the officers received information from a reliable source about the whereabouts of an African male, who was sought for a case of malicious injury to property. Members immediately acted on the information, and located the suspect matching the description given by the informer, at a well-known local tavern in Daveyton. The members swiftly apprehended the suspect, and marched him to the Daveyton police station.
The EMPD Municipal Police Commissioner I. J Mapiyeye, applauds members of the community who assisted officers in bringing lawbreakers to book. The suspect will appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.
