The ActionSA has donated blankets to the elders of Vosloorus on Saturday, 07 May 2022.
ActionSA PR Councillor Malesela Dolo along with his party members led the initiative in Emabhasini Ext 25, Vosloorus.
The party donated about 70 blankets to the seniors of the community, hoping to bring them warmth and comfort.
“Since we are approaching winter, we saw it fit that we gift these blankets to our elders, to keep them warm and comfortable”, said Cllr Dolo.
Dolo told Ekurhuleni news that this initiative was aimed at 70 years and older women but the turnout was a big one. He said itwas more than they had anticipated, as men also attended, including people under the age of 70.
“We have made arrangements to come back and give blankets to those who couldn’t get them,” he added.
71-year-old Maria Nyamatane who was one of the elders said she was really appreciative of this initiative.
“I’m thankful to the ActionSA for this precious gift, I will forever cherish it, and may they continue to do so to others”.
Branch Campaign Manager Dumisakonke Nkosi made thee promise to the community that they will continue to work and support the community where they can.
“This is not the last of our initiatives, we have more that we are working on. We will keep coming back to work for our community and lastly, we are thankful to all the elders who attended and adhered to this initiative,” he stated.
