After-school learning programme

The Wise-Up Learning Programme located in Tsakane, founded by Nondumiso Gama received positive feedbacks after asking for stationary and class equipments a few weeks ago.

Gama says that an interview she had with Ekurhuleni News helped her positively because her story was shared a lot on social media. She adds on saying that she received calls from people who were willing to assist by donating the required items.

“Sharing my story with Ekurhuleni News opened so many doors for us. Things changed more than I expected, we got more interviews from other media platforms and received exactly if not more than what we had asked for,” added Gama. She further disclosed saying that she received books, stationeries, pencils, crayons, dictionaries, colouring books and pritt-sticks from different people and she is looking forward to buying school tools with the money she received.

“I am so grateful to everyone who donated. It does not matter who donated what I am just grateful that our vision is getting clearer day by day. I could not wait for the kids to be back, so they can see this place beautiful and revamped,” uttered Gama. She mentions that her opening day was on the 1st of February and she loved seeing people show up because that is her greatest motivation and she’s currently too happy to even think that she has challenges. Gama also added by saying that; she is focusing on yielding the best results by helping the kids academically and creating a better environment for them. “The kids are back, we’re learning and we’re going to do even better with the new necessities we got through donations. Again, I can only thank people who helped. This wouldn’t be possible without them,”Gama delightfully expressed.
