The Daveyton edition of the Back2Basics service delivery programme was led by Member of Mayoral Committee for Water, Sanitation and Energy Cllr Senzi Sibeko.
The agenda included inspecting a furrow that was unblocked in Rolong Street. This caused flooding in the area during rains in the past.
Residents are urged not to dump and throw items into the stormwater system as this blocks the system and can cause unnecessary flooding.
MMC Sibeko visited Sinaba Stadium where a broken parameter fence used by the community as a shortcut was inspected.
He also highlighted illegal dumping as a challenge in the facility and urged the community to refrain from dumping.
Engagements were had with community members on challenges with stormwater drainage in the area. Unblocking of drains was carried out on the spot.
Back2Basics is a programme that deals with addressing service delivery issues.
