Record numbers of hungry people are queuing for food at Vineyard Missions and Outreach in Benoni, as hunger batters the homeless and less fortunate. What started small has now developed into a well-rounded and dedicated organisation.
Vineyard Missions and Outreach is a non-profit organisation, that has taken the initiative to feed and clothe the homeless and underprivileged, since 2020.
“I pay all the expenses involved, but lately, I am struggling.” Said the founder of the organization, Max Pillay.
The organisation feeds about 50 people, seven days a week, and requires donations of food, old clothes, or money to keep the organization progressing. Each season requires a significant budget that cannot be met by the founder alone.
“Our clients have increased drastically,”
“On a daily basis, there are new faces here and we are getting more children and older people. The increase in numbers shows how much people are struggling out there,” Added Max Pillay.
