On Saturday the 27th of May 2023, the Twelve Apostle Church in Trinity hosted a career day event at Chief Albert Luthuli Hall in Benoni intending to expose young people to tertiary academic career options, internships, learnerships, and beyond.
Talking to Mbuso Mthiyane one of the event organizers, said that the event was also aimed at ensuring that young people are encouraged to be entrepreneurs by inviting young entrepreneurs who started their businesses out of passion.
Among the speakers and institutions invited was Bheki Nqoko, musician and entrepreneur; and Gift T Makeke, LLB Law graduate and founder of Langaville’s Finest fashion brand; Damelin; Standard Bank; Be Sure; Boston; City Varsity; Gauteng City Region Academy; Guide Me; Richfield; SAIMET College; The Finishing School; and the University of Johannesburg.
In conclusion, Mthiyane said that the advantage that young people had on Saturday was for them to see themselves in the speakers that were invited who reflected on their journeys to success, and it was indeed a great inspiration to the youth.
