Between Tuesday, 30 January 2024, and Thursday, 01 February 2024, at 07:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Social Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU) Officers completed scholar transport and scholar patrol training in the Duduza area.
As part of wrapping up their road safety campaign operations for January, EMPD officers made their final visits to Iphahameseng Primary, Mmuso Primary, and James Nkosi Primary schools, collaborating with Active Education to talk to learners about road safety. They discussed important topics like human trafficking, especially since schools can be targets for such criminal activities. Parents were invited to learn about providing proper supervision and transport for their children to prevent cases of missing school children. There was a strong emphasis on not allowing small children to walk alone, with officers strongly recommending that children always walk in groups.
