Edenvale clinic temporarily closed following burglary

The City of Ekurhuleni appeals to members of the public to assist in protecting public facilities following a break-in at the Edenvale Clinic.

The burglary which was discovered by security personnel this morning has forced the municipality to temporarily close the facility to the public while investigations are taking place.

“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the thug(s) gained entry into the clinic through the ceiling. They proceeded to steal among others; 18 computers, four television sets, and two servers,” explains metro spokesman Zweli Dlamini, adding that a detailed inventory of the stolen goods will be determined once the South African Police Service (SAPS) have completed the investigation.

In the meantime, people seeking medical help are encouraged to visit the nearby clinics including Bedfordview and Kempton Park clinics.

“We appeal to members of the public to assist the law enforcement agency to nail these culprits. Let us also work together to protect public facilities because these are meant to make life easier for the public,” says Dlamini.

Members of the public who have information on the recent act of crime are encouraged to call the police on 08600 10111 or visit their nearest police station or EMPD precinct.
