An elegant and top notch restaurant named Eatery X which is combined with a sanatorium (X Woman spa and Beauty) was launched in Thokoza Unit F at 8636 Memello Street; it offers the best menu that caters for all people, in all walks of life.The ever glamorous owner of the novel Eatery X, Matshepo Covane revealed, saying: “my entrepreneurial journey started in high school at Parklands high, I was selling bunny chows and during my school holidays I would sell fat cakes and clothes; my failed projects are the ones which propelled me to be the business woman I’m today, I encouraged myself not to give up and to keep on trying.
“My restaurant is on the premises where I first opened a sanatorium called X Woman spa and Beauty which was a success, so I’m adding another business here today which is a restaurant that offers food of high quality; the restaurant offers unique food such as African cuisine and other unique dishes which are tasty and delicious, all the people who prefer only the best food should come and dine at this top class restaurant; I opened this restaurant because I believe we are capable as black women and I want to produce only the best in the township.”She elaborated further stating that, “Eatery X will be open every day, I want to offer the best food in the township, chef Lee is our head chef who promises to mesmerise our customers with his unique food dishes, my business aims to offer job opportunities to the youth, especially in the township where I was brought up,” Covane excitedly expressed.During the Eatery X launch Tshepo Sethosa a stand-up jester kept the crowd intrigued with his funny and raw jokes and the crowd was also entertained by a band called ‘Project Ndimhle’ that comprises of different artists from different areas.
Kgomotso Mabunda ‘Gogo Manjoro’ the founder of Livumile clothing brand that offers clothes for all the people with a ‘spiritual calling’ availed herself in the launch, stating that: “My clothing brand is for all the people who are called to their destiny, it was launched in November last year, I was inspired to start this brand after my spiritual calling, because I believe without god and my ancestors I could have not done it myself, when my spiritual calling came I started losing my things, myself, friends and found myself partying and travelling just to avoid the gift, but since I aligned myself with the gift, it unlocked my talents, that’s how I ventured into business and my clothes can be purchased by anyone, a teacher, pastor, a healer anyone who has accepted his ‘calling’ ,” Mabunda delightfully disclosed.However the ceremony was also supported by Kholeka Nxumalo, the founder of a wine business which started in July 2020, named ‘Ndlovukazi Wines’ who said, “I offer three blends of wine which are Shiraz, Merlot and white blend and my business is based in Spruitview,” Nxumalo vividly alluded
