LIGHT AT THE END OF TUNNEL

The Executive Mayor of the City, Cllr Mzwandile Masina has called for heightened security measures to protect the new Eden Park Substation which comes at a cost of R42 million. Mayor Masina was speaking during a site visit to assess the state of readiness of the 33kv substation on Monday, September 14.Not only has the substation project employed 24 locals, but it is set to lighten up the lives of residents from Eden Park and Phola Park, through the provision of a stable and reliable power supply.The substation, set for completion next month, will bring to a halt an era of intermittent power supply interruptions in the two areas.“We are very excited to see such a dedicated team that is working hard to implement our vision for a stable and reliable power supply in our City,” the Mayor said.The Mayor had earlier visited Glen Marais Substation in Kempton Park to see upgrades made to stabilise supply in Glen Marais and parts of Birchleigh
