Daveyton_ On Thursday 28 July 2022 in Daveyton area, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct was conducting their special operation when they received information about a motor vehicle (LDV) that was stolen in Thembisa area and currently driving at the N12 highway direction Mpumalanga
The officers proceeded to the N12 highway and pursued the vehicle matching the description given by intelligence. When the suspect realised that the police were on his tail he then started to speed off and a chase took place. The suspect drove the vehicle until he came to a halt at the bridge before Modderbee Road where he jumped out of the vehicle and started to run on foot. EMPD officers then gave chase to the suspect and apprehended him at Kingsway next to the mine dump.
The suspect was then immediately arrested and detained at Daveyton Police Station for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and will soon appear in court.
