Keeping to their promise of giving back to the community, Mall of Thembisa has built a computer lab for the beneficiaries of Bulamahlo Home and Daycare in the Difateng section in Tembisa. The lab was handed over on Friday, 2 September 2022.
Marketing Manager for Mall of Thembisa, Mfunekwa Sithole, says that the mall aims to continually bring positive change for good to the local communities. “We are committed to understanding the needs of the community and working with them to co-create solutions.”
Bulamahlo Home is an NPO that was established in 1989. They continue to better the lives of the children in the community of Thembisa. The Mall wanted to assist them with the donation of the library and computer lab when it became clear that the centre had over 20 computers but did not have the space to store and utilize them.
The Home, which is determined to share love and provide care to victims of abuse, is delighted to have received such a gesture from the mall and wishes for a positive and strong relationship with the mall.
“I don’t even know what to say because I really wanted people who could help me along with my children in the orphanage and the mall came through for me,” said Regina Sekgobela the founder of the orphanage.
“They built a home for the children that will enable them to study and have a conducive place. I was amazed that there are people who could actually see the hardships I go through in the orphanage and saw it fit to be a helping hand and for that I am grateful.”
“My children now can use the area efficiently when they come back from school and be able to do their homework in a productive environment. Halala Mall of Thembisa Halala,” exclaimed Sekgobela.
