On Sunday, 06 November, Moribo Pictures hosted an extravaganza show where young people showcased their talents in dance, poetry, music, stage play, and modelling at Lord Khanyile Hall in Ivory Park Ext 2.
Peter Matsapula from Moribo Pictures mentioned that this production is an entertainment platform where they groom and build the youth and uplift their level of confidence.
“We also provide coaching and training in poetry, modelling, and acting. We started this organisation to work with the Arts and culture department, and local schools to drive the children and groom their talents.
Sabelo Makhubu known by his stage name “Baba ka Bettina” said, “We are here at Ivory Park as part of the Moribo pictures event. We are working closely with them because we support their good work. With everything we see about the trauma, these young kids go through or face this is a great initiative. Teenage pregnancy has escalated and we need parental care more than ever.
Victor Masenamela the founder and CEO of Moribo Pictures alluded that starting this production has meant a lot for him, he has been to production houses being an extra, has been to stage places, and went to events and the saddest part was walking in the streets of Ekurhuleni and the picture that was painted was not good for him.
“This is the pure reason why I started this production where we are looking at taking care of the kids and trying to alleviate poverty. We take these kids when they come back from school we provide training classes for modelling, dancing, and music. There are a lot of challenges in Tembisa including Midrand. It just needs someone to tap into it, so we at Moribo Pictures saw it fit that by helping the kids we are contributing to their future.
“We are hoping and praying that other productions and distributors will see our work and fund us and continue doing God’s work,” he added.
I would like to give thanks to the people that have made it possible for me, Ngoako Matsapula, Ramarumo Letjeko, my crew, the cast who performed miracles today, and God.
Ramarubo Letjeko part of the executives of Moribo pictures said they are grooming the kids to showcase their talents for free because most of the kids are from disadvantaged families. They would appreciate it if they can get sponsors as they do this course out of their own pockets.
Currently, the Moribo Pictures crew was busy with modelling, and moving forward they will be busy with the Liberty Film that they have shot and their focus will be on recruiting the youth. Their classes are hosted at Eco City in Ivory Park on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Their next event will be held in December and hope that it will be bigger and better.
