A whole team of committed individuals working together for a common goal it is what has given Daveyton Mall its pride in serving the community and what made the re-launch a success on the 27th of April 2022.
Project Architect, Maree said it started as a dream, a dream from a landlord of creating a better space for the tenants to do business in, and a better shopping experience for all the patrons.
“A big element in fulfilling this vision is the management team, leasing agents, and tenants coordinators. They ensure that the shopping experience is extended past the architecture through the tenant mix they create,” he said.
To create a better community mall in the community and for the people, they needed the buy-in from the locals. This was done through the “Brand Ambassador” campaign which was advertised in the mall and on social media platforms.
They also hosted an art competition that was held at and extended to local schools and local artists in the community. Over 50 entries were received and these artworks are on the display throughout the mall.
Speaking on behalf of the management, Vusi Ndlovu said they are pleased to announce that the project has reached its practical completion.
“We have worked tremendously hard over the past months to bring this much-needed facility to the people of Daveyton,”
“I would like to extend my greatest gratitude to the ward councillors who were able to find time to be part of this project, to the local labour who have put in countless hours of working on this project, to the subcontractors, artists and the professional team who made this possible.”
He further said the mall is a testament to the strength of their local businesses and the diversity of the community.
“We are grateful to have such wonderful space to operate and thrive in,” he ended.
Ward 71 councillor, Thembinkosi Lubisi said, “It has been a wonderful journey to work closely with the management of the mall. I was not the councillor when the project started but immediately when I stepped in, the plan was rolled to me, and gladly accepted the task”.
