The Grade 12s at Palmridge Ext 6 Secondary school produced some of the best results in Katlehong in the 2022 National Senior Certificate Examinations (NCS).
On Friday the 20th of January, Matriculants received their result and Palmridge ext6 Secondary school based in Palmridge, Katlehong, was amongst the schools that did very well.
The school managed to score 91.2%, producing a vast number of distinctions. These results seem to be more of an improvement because in 2021 they scored 82.3%.
The school managed to produce: 1. 100% in English 2.88.2% in Accounting 3.87.2% in Business Studies 4.80. 4% in Economics 5.75.3% in Geography 6.97.2% in History 7.80% in Maths Literacy 8.65% in Life Sciences 9.50% in Mathematics 10.43.6% in Physics
Also having 114 Bachelors, 63 Diplomas, 30 Higher certificates, and only 20 who couldn’t make it.
Isabellah Masobya is one of the students who did very well, taking the first position and scoring herself six distinctions.
Makhosonke Xaba the Principal, showed gratitude and thanked all the students who did very well and encouraged those who didn’t do so well to try again.
“We always aim to produce the best results, our strategy is making sure that we accommodate every student, look at their needs and make sure that we help them where they show weakness,” stated Xaba.
“I’m very happy with how our results turned out, it shows lots of improvement compared to other years, and those who did not do well, can come back to school, and see how we assist them in making sure that they pass their matric, he added.
Xaba also stated that these results have set the bar very high and now they have to make sure that they don’t drop the ball and make sure that they raise their standards.
To the class of 2023, he encourages them to work hard and put their best foot forward.
