The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department’s (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) detained seven (7) people for multiple offences on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in the Germiston region between 10:00 and 11:30. Various illegal substances were also seized.
Seven (7) suspects, aged 23 to 52, were found in possession of sixteen (16) ziplock bags of crystal meth, two (2) ziplock bags of rock, five (5) full mandrax tablets, twelve (12) green nyaope, thirteen (13) brown nyaope, nine (9) ziplock bags of dagga, and a five (5) litre bucket following a visit by DEU officers to the Marathon informal settlement and Primrose in the Germiston region.
Eight (8) 9mm live rounds, thirteen thousand, nine hundred Rands (R13 900), one hundred and eighty-five Rands (R185).
The seven (7) criminals were led into the Primrose police station and accused of having illegal narcotics in their possession and maybe dealing with them, as well as having live ammunition. Soon, they should show up at the Germiston Magistrates Court.
