On Thursday the 9th of September 2021, a shoot-out ensued between criminals and members of the South African Police Service and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Public Order Police after an armed robbery at a local store, where an undisclosed amount of money and various items were recovered.
A chase ensued, which initiated from Dawn Park shopping complex, proceeded to Barry Marais and R103 and came at a halt at the informal settlement where the ever-ready law enforcers cornered and apprehended the two suspects.
The law enforcers further recovered the firearms used in the commission of the alleged offence.
