ETWATWA_ On Tuesday 15 November 2022 at about 08:30, The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Drug Unit officers arrested two male suspects for dealing in illegal drugs, crystal meth and mandrax.
While conducting a crime prevention operation around Daveyton, the EMPD officers received a tip-off that there is a shack in Daveyton Hostel that has a suspicious amount of movement of unscrupulous people suspected of selling drugs. The officers proceeded to the shack and observed the movement, as described by the whistle-blower, and decided to investigate further. The officers requested entry to the shack and found two (2) males between the ages of 30 to 42, one laying in the bed and one sitting on the bed.
On the officers’ instructions, the suspects moved from the bed and pulled up the mattress revealing sixteen (16) full tablets of mandrax, one (1) half tablet of mandrax and fifteen (15) small clear plastics of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R2400.
The suspects were immediately arrested and detained at Etwatwa police station and will appear at the Daveyton Magistrate Court to face charges of dealing in drugs.
