Women from different businesses in Thembisa converged to launch the Thembisa Women Chamber of Business (TWCB) on Friday, 19 August.
The chamber was expected to unlock business opportunities for businesswomen in the area while empowering and supporting them in growing their businesses. It will also create a platform for these businesses to venture into public-private partnerships.
Speaking at the launch, chairperson of TWCB Zanele Ntombela said, “We are a platform for industries looking for service providers, and provide opportunities for growth through links with investors.
“We felt that it is time that women in Thembisa, particularly previously disadvantaged women, are united under one umbrella.”
The Women Chamber in Business Committee is made up of Kedibone Boboko (Secretary), Zanele Ntombela (Chairperson), Phumzile Mthembu (Treasurer) and Veronica Mazibuko (Deputy Treasurer).
The TWCB is currently open to businesses in Thembisa only, and interested parties can e-mail info@TWCB.co.za or call the chairperson Zanele Ntombela on 073 949 3618 for more information.
