Tshegofatso Msibi, aged only 16 and from Daveyton, Emaphupheni, is already making a name for herself as a model and an inspiration to her community. Recently joining Miss Influence South Africa, Tshegofatso is more than just a beauty pageant contestant; she’s on a mission to make a genuine difference in the lives of others.
“As the pageant name suggests, Miss ‘Influence’ South Africa, I also want to be a positive influence on others,” Tshegofatso shares. Her journey with the pageant is more than just a competition; it’s about lending a helping hand and bringing smiles to those in need.
Despite her youth and the demands of being a Grade 11 student, Tshegofatso manages her responsibilities with ease. As the school president, she knows the importance of juggling tasks efficiently. “Multitasking is key,” she says. “From pageant duties to schoolwork, I’ve learned to balance it all.”
For Tshegofatso, the title comes with a significant responsibility. She dreams of organizing initiatives like a uniform drive to support less fortunate school children. “Seeing kids without proper uniforms breaks my heart,” she admits. “I want to make a difference in South African communities with the help of the Miss Influence organization.”
Charity work is close to Tshegofatso’s heart. From collecting cosmetics and sanitary towels to addressing issues like bullying in schools, she’s determined to make an impact. She also plans to start an organization to empower youngsters to reach their full potential.
In her modeling journey, Tshegofatso finds strength in her own resilience. “Remembering how far I’ve come keeps me going,” she says. With her family’s support, especially her mother’s, she feels encouraged to pursue her dreams.
Tshegofatso believes models should be role models, both on and off the runway. “We have a duty to inspire and uplift others,” she states.
With support from her family, school, and community, Tshegofatso is ready to make a difference. “Having God by my side means everything,” she adds. Her journey is proof that with hard work and faith, anything is possible.
As she continues on her path, Tshegofatso’s message to the youth is clear: “Stay true to yourself, work hard, and never give up on your dreams. With determination and belief in yourself, you can achieve anything.”
