On Saturday, 16 April 2022 at about 17:00 stations of Ekurhuleni sub east district paraded at Vosloorus at Chris Hani Mall together with other Law enforcement agencies, community in blue (patrollers) under the command of Brig Thethe.
The focus was on vcp’s, drugs, drinking and driving, liquor compliance enforcement, and high visibility with blue lights patrols, however, the rain was a disturbance.
Success met during the high-density operation were as follows, six suspects were arrested for being in possession of drugs, four suspects were arrested for dealing in liquor without a valid license, while six suspects were arrested for driving motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol, fifteen plastic wrappings of Nyaope were seized and more than 20000ml of alcohol confiscated.
Vosloorus Station Commander Brigadier Thethe is highly impressed with the joined operation, however, she encouraged the community of Vosloorus to supply more information related to crime to the police.
Vosloorus was painted in blue, with revolving police and EMPD lights, to apply safety to the community.
All the arrested suspects appeared in Vosloorus Magistrate court on Tuesday 19th April 2022.
