Eager to change the world and hearten the youth is the divine Miss East Rand 2022 finalist Angel Aurorah Pieterse, hailing from Boksburg.
The 22-year-old said that her love for modelling originates from watching ‘Top Billing’ and going through magazines, imagining herself on the front page.
“I used to do a lot of photoshoots as a child and always wanted to be part of pageants,” said Pieterse.
According to the model, in her quest in encouraging acceptance and confidence in young people, she saw the Miss East Rand competition as an opportunity to achieve her vision.
She added that when people think of beauty pageants, the first thing that comes to mind is girls up on stage, decked out in their best attire with their make-up and hair expertly styled. On the other hand, some people take notice of the hard work, dedication, and preparation that goes into the events.
“It has helped me in interviews, I am no longer timid or shy when answering questions, asking questions, and speaking up during meetings,” she added.
Strengthening the youngster are her parents, Lucille and Abie Pieterse who are fond of their daughter.
“We are proud of Angel, even though this is not her first pageant, we believe that this one, it’s already in her bag,”
“She has our full support and we are confident that she’s going far,” proclaimed her parents.
Angel believes that her journey will encourage many young people who want to join pageants but lack self-confidence.
