Daveyton TV was founded by Petros Khoza also known by his stage name “Daddy” in March 2016. The channel was established to celebrate and appreciate township content without excluding global content.
Daveyton TV was created to give residents of Daveyton and other neighbouring areas a platform to share their stories, to motivate and showcase their exceptional rich history. Daveyton TV has diverse content which is entertainment, education, and empowerment. The channel produces a variety of shows for different viewers with distinct personas; generally, the channel caters for everybody.
“Daveyton TV was created to be the voice that says: we are doing it ourselves. I have a passion for telling community stories. I am a firm believer of the impossible, as it seems impossible until it is done. I felt that it would be satisfying to have a platform where the beauty of our area and its community members are both broadcasted on the community’s very own channel for everyone to see. The Daveyton community has talent as well as people who are doing amazing things. There’s so much happening in our community because people are winning in different aspects and we want everyone to see it on our very own channel,” Petros shares.
The channel focuses on youth empowerment that is why it offers opportunities to youngsters who wish to venture into the media profession. The youth is trained on the fundamental basis of presenting a show, and thereafter when they have gained valuable expertise, they are given an opportunity to host their own shows.
Daveyton TV went through numerous hardships while on the rise to greatness. Petros didn’t have the finances to start his channel. His passion drove him to convince the people that believed in him that he could build his dream without the necessary resources. “We offer local content, one hundred percent. We are a platform for change and discovering the undiscovered talent. We have an academy where we train actors and TV presenters. We are working on our first film. We are also developing radio Vutta for our community,” Petros proclaimed.
Daveyton TV uses word of mouth, social media, and community events as marketing strategies. Daveyton TV has a sturdy client base due to the support they attain from local churches, artists, and the community.
