On Wednesday 20 July 2022 in the Bronberg area, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct in conjunction with the Crystal Park SAPS and the Department of Home Affairs conducted a crime prevention operation where eleven undocumented foreign nationals were arrested.
The area of Bronberg was penetrated by law enforcers in every corner. Scores of foreign nationals were found looming the streets and were asked to produce some form of identification and they could not produce such. Of those apprehended, some had expired passports, which were verified by the Home Affairs Control Immigration Capacity Unit, and the foreign nationals were found to be in contravention of the Immigration Act13/2002.
The apprehended undocumented foreign nationals were taken to Crystal Park Police Station and expected to appear in court.
