Empowering Gauteng DJs with financial literacy skills

The department will host a series of workshops across all 5 regions of the province to educate young up-and-coming DJs on the basics of personal financial planning.

Approximately 250 beneficiaries of the department’s DJ Development programme, which includes emerging disk jockeys, performing artists and school groups who are a part of the Wednesday League Integrated School Arts Programme, will be taught about Financial Wellness and Business of the Arts.

The workshop participants will be empowered with critical information from accredited financial institutions and professional industry artists. This initiative adds to their development as a part of the provincial programme that provides training and access to resources and opportunities for talent in Gauteng communities to progress and cultivate sustainable livelihoods within industries of the creative arts sector.
